History
In the past, roadside barbers were commonly found along Singapore's streets. These old barbershops merely have tarpaulin canopies for roofs, not air-conditioning, and with small plastic chairs for the customers.

The old roadside barbers also cleaned ears! Using a five-centimetre-long metal ear cleaner that had a hook at one end, they fished out ear wax from the customers' ears.
