Sports Football: Siti Rosnani Azman's for INAC Kobe Leonessa
WE League: INAC Kobe Leonessa v. Omiya Ardija Ventus on Sunday
Siti Rosnani Azman signed a one-season contract to play as a Defender with Japan's INAC Kobe Leonessa for the WE (Women Empowerment) League. They will be battling against the Omiya Ardija Ventus on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
She is the first Singaporean female footballer to play. Azman has been a great player and her courage has built a milestone for her career.
Who is Siti Roznani Azman?
Azman's love for football started when she was 11 years old. Because of her courage, commitment and hard work, she was able to play at Woodlands Secondary School and Republic Polytechnic. Then, she joined and competed for the Police Sports Association in domestic leagues. She began to appear in the national team in 2012 and made 28 caps (28 appearances).
In 2017, she was the youngest player that was nominated and awarded as the FAS Player of the Year (WPL) by the Football Association of Singapore.
According to Azman's interview from fas.org.sg, she said that "I have been playing football for most of my life, but I wanted to switch it from being a passion to a career,".
"I’m excited to gain experience in Japan where the standard of football keeps growing. It still feels like a dream, but I know that it will not be easy. I am ready and want to challenge myself to see how far I can go. I hope that this will inspire girls back home and instill the belief that being a professional female footballer is indeed possible.” she added.
As everyone is looking forward to this game, football players have prepared themselves for the possibilities of this league. Let's support Azman's journey!
